The Whitianga Waterways residential development is a comprehensively planned marine village and once complete will provide for over 1,500 homes. The development is currently only one third complete and upon completion plans to include a marine precinct, hotel accommodation and waterfront retail.
Dockside Waterfront Retail
The consent process was initiated at the end of 2017 for a waterfront mixed use retail/commercial development and it is hoped that construction will commence mid /late 2018. The mixed use retail/commercial project is well situated at the entrance to Whitianga. The nautically inspired units will overlook the waterways offering a unique destination accessed by water, road, foot or pedal. Whitianga Waterways has a specific site planned for a fully serviced hotel to accommodate the growing tourism in the region. Our management team are currently exploring options with investors and are working on the design aspects of this project.
Whitianga Waterways also has a site situated within the Waterways development for a medical centre. With the current growing population of Whitianga and surrounding areas, our team are working towards plans of establishing a medical centre.
Whitianga Waterways has a specific site in mind for a planned future Retirement Village, and will be located right on the canal front. More information is to come at a later date.
A marine precinct, with marina berths, marine services, dry stack, haul out facility and more, are also planned for the Waterways development. The site this is planned for is currently where the Event Park is, near the estuary entrance of the Waterways.
